Installed WinME over W98. PC is networked w. TCP/IP and NetBeui through LAN router. No conflicts or problems re. hardware or "usual" Windows OS stuff. TCP/IP was working at first. Browser worked (but sluggish) for awhile, PING and router access OK. Although PC shows-up in network and files can go either way, there is absolutely no TCP/IP action now. Running WINIPCFG results in error message "IP Config: cannot initialize winsock." PING gives error " Cannot initialize Windows Sockets, error code 0." Have renamed various winsock .dll and .vxd files, totally uninstalled all networking componets and files, reinstalled them, and reinstalled ME twice. Thoroughly searched all of MS's Knbase and all internet w/o any results. Can put another PC in this location w/o any problems, so I know it's PC specific. B-t-w, PCAny linked via NetBeui won't work either. I'm 'bout ready to "flash the trash" w. a clean install.
