Just got the supra express 56e model 2730. using com2. system is p3 800mhz, sb live mp3 plus,ati all-in-wonder 128 pro.

have att worldnet for provider using their connection mgr v 6.0. This site is rated for V.90. The connect rated is displaying 65555 bps in att connection manager. i have tried the s95=1 but speed still displays at 65555 bps.

I downloaded the current inf drivers from diamond and installed them(correctly i hope).

Why does this still display this? How can i get the highest connect speed correctly? Is there a way to change the extra modem string settings without having to reboot all the time? When i surf each site still takes more time to comeup than I think, is it related to modem settings?

I entered this string in extra settings under control panel/modems/properties/advanced based upon what i have read here on the board and in 56k.com

S202=32S95=1L1+MS=V90,1,,,,48000.

I did try other types of strings including some starting with AT. I did unplug the power to the modem and plug it back int.

here is a copy of my current log:

Thanks reboot for the additional code. I finally found out why the true speed didnot display. Kept reviewing the modem log each time i tried new strings, tried a k56 flex string and it used in a usr mdm3com.inf file(modem log showed that the modem in use was a USR). Usr software still leaves their junk in your directories even when you use their uninstall utility.

reboot

Just goes to show what happens when one party assumes too much (me), and the other party doesn't provide all the details (You had a USR).
I assumed you had a PCI winmodem (rockwell/Conexant/PCTel/Motorolla/Ambient) in there, and never considered USR.
