radeon 8500 vs 9000?

I was looking at getting an 8500 not all in wonder for my new compuyter. It was 162 dollars at newegg. Now I see the 9000 pro for only 130 at some places. I thought it was newer, why is it cheaper? I don't care for anything klike tv out, I only want the graphics =]. Which should i get? I'm kinda low on cash but I can still get the 8500.

Head over to www.Tomshardware.com and read the benchmarks for yourself. The 8500 beats it and is the better card.
Note they both support 8.1 not the coming directX 9 ,that, so far, is only natively supported by the 9700.
