i have a geforce4 ti 4200 and have been playing elder scrolls III: morrowind and the sun always glared if it wasnt covered by a cloud if i looked at it or near it...

but not its just a plain boring sun...i have no idea what effect controls lighting effects such as that...ive been tweaking it and even reset to default but im just not getting that glare back...thanks!

It should be controlled by ingame options, not the cards drivers. Keep looking. I haven't played that game, and don't know if anyone here has either, so you may wnat to check a specific BBS for that game?

Just in case, do you remmber changing anything in your game options, or even vid. card drivers, just before it stopped showing lens flares??

In the non-cyber world (if I understand your question), that phenomena is called parhelia. Hence, the name for Matrox's new vid card.

really?
Interesting. I will have to look that word up. I always thought Matrox just made the name up. Of course that would indicate some amount of effort on their part, which is not very apparent in the cards ability to compete with top of the line GeForce cards.

Oh well.

I got that tidbit from a recent issue of a Comp mag. The head guy from Matrox was quoted regarding a parhelia. They had a pic of one in a wintry scene.
The write up of the card did change my perspective of it some. Matrox says they aren't going for framerate but quality of the graphics. Their anti-alising does a better job with nowhere near the performance drop we see in ATI and nVidia. Things like that.

True. It does seem to excel at image quality.... being a gamer I doubt I would notice the difference, since most of my games are very fast paced, (except some RTS games)
