You will need to copy the Win98 folder from the Win98 CD. As for the files to boot I don't rightly know.

a friend suggested copying command.com and possibly command.bin to the root directory to enable boot but if that is in the root directory, doesn't it conflict with normal load in the future??

how big is the hard drive you might want to make a dir in dos copy the whole cd and run the set from there after booting in to dos then delete the dir to free up some space.

Hi racerbrownn,

Nuclear Krusader is right, you only have to copy the Win98 folder from the Win98 CD to the laptop hard drive.

You really only need command.com in the root directory (it's probably there already) if you just want to boot to the hard drive. You can add drvspace.bin, io.sys and msdos.sys if you want to.

To do the install, just change to the c:\Win98 folder and type "setup" and hit enter.
