I installed win98 on a pc and now everytime it boots it asks for a network password. How do I stop this window from appearing?

You can right click on NetWork Nieghborhood then properties, and you should see a thin box in the center for the login type. What is currently in there??
If it's Client for Microsoft Networks, change it to Windows Login. OK out of there, PC will want to reboot, click yes and when it reboots you should not get the login again!
Other thing to look at also under network Neighborhood properties, is to doubleclick client for microsoft networks, and be sure Log onto windows NT domain is not checked, and in the same window I use quick logon!

if your not using the network function to connect to other pc'c, then go to control panel and select network icon and at the bottom of the display you should see client for ms. opening that box for more choices should show also windows logon. select windows logon and you should not be bothered anymore.
this might render your network unreachable on some machines and you would need to reselect client for ms to reenable the network settings.
there is a way to load tweakui onto your pc and select one of it's choices to auto logon to your network box on bootup. [thats what i have always needed to do on my pc's.]
hahaha.....ktkendall was too fast for me.
