hey everyone,

i was wondering if anyone has used the ricoh ecabinet as a means of capturing and archiving scanned images over a network. any thoughts?

We have a few customers that use it. It works with Gestetner, Ricoh and Savin MFPs. Mostly Doctors, lawyers that need to archive more than is reasonalble to utilize CDRs or tape backup.
Takes a little while to configure and train but no problems after that.

my company does like 12000 invoices a month that a lot of people have to look at, so i figured this might be the best option for keeping everything in an easily accessable spot.

exactly what it was designed for. Do you have an MFP now?

nope. we're looking to get a new copier/printer/fax/scanner along with the ecabinet. that should handle it.

I haven't used Ricoh Cabinet but it sounds similar to Paper Port. Paper Port is a good way to keep track of a lot of docs even if they are in different formats.
