I've noticed that on my windows 98 system It can't handle too many things happening at once in internet explorer, whereas when I switch to NT things go much quicker.

NT can't play many games though, Does WinME handle it better?

NT is better at multitasking.
ME is (supposedly) better at multimedia.
95 is faster than 98.
98 is better than 98SE.
Linux is faster than all of them.
BeOS is better at multimedia.
So what.
Use the OS that performs YOUR tasks the best.
The box said minimum requirement, Windows 95, so I installed Linux.
I doubt if you'll find one OS that will do everything well, some are just better at some things.

I completely disagree with the statement that 95 is faster than 98. I saw a noticable speed increase when I went from 95 to 98. Everything else is pretty much correct.

I also noticed a huge speed increase from 95 to 98, and 98SE seemed even better then 98. Just today I upgraded a friends 95 to 98 and her computer runs more smoothly now.
