I installed AOL 6.0 for a client on a win2k machine - this being the first time I have done an AOL install.

When it installed it threw on all the RealPlayer garbage which I proceded to uninstall. Now when AOL dials up it comes up with an error that it could not load AOL's media player and that AOL should be reinstalled.

Is there a way around this without having AOL and realplayer installed? I did go into preferences in AOL and unchecked where it had to use the AOL defualt media player but the error still comes up.

Also, when You disconnect AOL it reconnects and it has to be disconnected a second time before it stays disconnected. Is there a setting to change this? I didn't find one but thought maybe I overlooked something with my lack of AOL knowledge. :)

Thanks guys.

Look in the preferences of your preferred media player - you may have to reassociate some things.

Right click on the AOL systray icon and turn off the autostart options.

well I have a quick question; AOL takes away from computer resources, AOL makes it slower; and basically; I have my Cable connection on AOL Broadband (it's my bro's net)

I wanna make it connect as if it were... a regular net; how would I setup a program to do that; using 10x times less resources?
