Security Certificate problems

I am having a strange problem whenever I try to enter a secure site

I get the error message that the security certificate has either expired or is invalid. This happens for Hotmail and Amazon so far, I don't know why

I can either proceed or stop, both work fine. However, if I go to view the certificate it is in date, not expired

Any ideas?

Check your time/date settings on your computer. If it is not correct that can give you the error message.

My computer date was set to 19th May 2001

I don't know how this could have happened as I am the only user of the computer and I didn't do it
