I am using AOL V. 7.0, Win98 SE, and Zoom modems. When I click on a link or type the url in the address line I do not go the the new link. The page I am viewing stays the same. It might take 3 to 10 tries before I go to the new page or url or it might go on the first try.

I have scanned my system with the latest Norton Virus program and replaced the modem. I am currently using a Zoom external modem. I am able to see the TD and RD lights flash on the modem every time I click on a link so I know that I am sending.

I have another system running AOL 7.0 and Win98 and I do not have that problem on that system.

Have you tried minimizing AOL and using IE or another browser for your browsing?

Good suggestion glc. When I use IE V 5.5 I do not have the problem of no response. This would seem to indicate that the problem is with the AOL software, their site, or their browser.

I would tend to lean toward the AOL software, when I used 7.0 I was forever reinstalling it due to one problem or another.

It's probably the AOL proxy - all browsing with the AOL software goes through it. Using IE bypasses it I believe. Remember - AOL is not "the" Internet - it's only a "gateway" and they want you to see it "their" way.
