Windows ME & Quake 3

I installed Win ME and really like the OS so far although I'm unable to get Quake 3 to run on the system now, everything goes fine until I installed the point release v1.17 and then the system won't do a normal boot. I was wondering if anyone else was having this problem and if so what the fix is.

flag, I'm not 2 much of a gammer but I just downloawded the
Quake 3 demo version set up and played it about 10 min with no problem except I suck at it!

I have had Q3 running on mine for a couple weeks, runs great!
