optimum online

Just finished my first build...but can't figure out how to get online. Is there any way I can install an optimum online cable modem without a cd? I'm running XP

You should be able to plug the modem in to your network adapter with a straight Cat5 patch cable and set the TCP/IP properties on your network adapter to obtain an IP address automatically. If it's a USB modem, you will need software.
