one time, a group of missionaries (i'm not going to mock their religion, so i won't mention it) came to my door right as i was about to eat, and they would just not leave me alone. since they're my age, they were trying to get down on the same level as me or something, and they were talking about their religion and all of that, and i said i had to go eat. well, one of them gave me this little pamphlet with a web address and he asked "do you have the internet?" and i said "yea, i've got the whole thing in my back yard" he just sort of snickered.

I once had this woman who couldn't access a webpage because their were having a problem with it. She was telling me it was my job to get their webpage working. Yeah, okay. I'm responsible to get every webpage to work. Hell I don't know anything about webpages, I'm a server, pc, laptop guy. What do I know about webpages. Users, they should be extinct. Actually if they are then I'm out of a job. Yikes!

Yeah, well if you blame it on either Microsoft or AOL, most people will buy it. We all know that it can't be the IT guys fault. I have started blaming Gator for problems of late. Not too far off with that one either.

the funny thing is that she was trying to get to a web address, but she was mistyping it. she mistyped it like 5 times before she called me. she was dead serious when she thought the internet was broken.

I read some story here this guy was telling. He was working at the BestBuy or something and a lady came in and didn't know the difference between a monitor and a computer, she kept saying "I want that computer!" pointing to the LCD monitor. It was a hilarious story, anyone remember where that is? Its on a thread around here somewhere, (i'll go look for it.......)

Okay wise guy. I know of the secret search button :)
My problem is that not only in PCMech but in other area's of the net it's at times very difficult to find things. If it wasn't for Google I would be bald now because doing searches on Microsofts Knowledge base is like pulling hairs out of my head. But then there are people like Hal and my wife which no matter what they are searching for or what they are using to find it, they always find it in 5minutes or less.

That's what I'm trying to really learn.
