Disable on-board sound asus a7v333

I just ordered a sound card that should be here in a couple days. I uninstalled the drivers for the on-board sound but every time I log on (win xp pro) it tells me that windows found new hardware and ask me to install the drivers. I looked in the BIOS and in the manual and couldn't find anything about turning off the sound. When I hook up the new card will it turn it self off? If not where/how do I turn it off? Thanks for your help.

There might be an option in the bios, otherwise there should be a jumper on the board itself to disable the onboard sound. Lemme know what you can come up with. HTH

Well i am an idiot. Found it in the manual. It is set with a jumper.
I guess why they say RTFM. Thanks for your help Floppyman.

TwoRail- Guess we posted at the same time. Thanks for your help too. Did your mobo come with something that fits in an expansion slot. It has two USB ports and a game port. If so did you get yours to fit. I tried but i couldn't get it to fit in tight. Also which slot did you put it in. I tried the space above the AGP. Thanks for your help.

How do you mean you couldn't get it to fit in tight?

You just screw it into the case as you would a PCI card and attach the cables to the mobo.

Obviously, because it doesn't slot into the PCI slot like a normal PCI card it won't be as secure as a PCI card; however, it should be secure enough for plugging and unplugging joysticks and USB connectors.

Ya, I felt left out for a second !! LOL :D

The part you're talking about is the USB 2 port / game port "module." And, like Mike suggests, it will be loose until screwed down.

I put mine in a spare hole which was / is 5 down from the top. If it physically fits by the AGP port, then great, but mine was too close for comfort to the vid card for me. Plus, I was concerned over air flow at the vid card.
