Hello,

I was wondering if anyone is familiar with webcams and streaming video live on the net. I'm looking in to installing a webcam in my office just so I can look at what's going on when I'm at home. Even though I think simple webcam like Intel PC Camera Pro will work I'm not sure what kind of software I must use to imbed live stream on my website. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Faba

PS Sorry that I posted in Hardware section but Im not sure where this one should go.

If my memory is right streaming video can be kind of costly, but I could be wrong, if I am please someone correct me. But all is not lost, I have used CoffeeCup Webcam in the past that updates every 5 seconds or so, it works pretty good and you still can see what is going on in pretty much real time.

You can use a program called PicMaster to upload images taken by the webcam to an FTP server, then using a well written Java applet, you can refresh the image, this is the easiest solution IMHO.
