I have recently started learning to build webpages and I have looked round a few sites for idea's the other day I saw this message in the source of the page "This page uses frames, but your browser doesn't support them". I am unsure what this means and is it a good idea to have my broswer set up in this way or leave it be, if yes how is this done.
any help would be gateful.

If you access a page with frames with an old web browser who doesn't understand frames, this message will be shown on screen (as the browser doesn't understand the frames code)
If you want to check on such things go to the http://www.w3c.org site.

Hi mosquito
Thanks for this info I am now starting to understand, it just seemed strange when I first seen it, I was looking through the source of the page and I lost track for some reason, maybe because it was early, I thought it was telling me that my browser didn't support frames.
I will now try this http://www.w3c.org site. Thanks again for making me see this differently now.

Hi Mark
If you are building a web site and want to use frames, but still want those that have browsers incapable of reading frames to see your site, then it is necessary place a no frames pages between the tags, "NOFRAMES" and "/NOFRAMES", use the greater than and lesser than symbols in place of the quotation marks. Also if you use frames these tags may be used to optimize your content info for Search Engines. If you would like to know more about these NOFRAMES tags and META tags in general then you should visit the Search Engine Forum and scroll down to the forum on Meta tags.
