Windows 98 OS

I just formatted my HD and need to re-install Windows 98 on my machine. I'm not ready to go out there and buy the Win98 cd so i was wondering is there some place i can get the OS?

Not without purchasing it. If you don't legally own a copy, there is nothing you can legally do.

What Os did you have before you formatted? Where did you get it from?

I got the system from a friend of mine who was leaving the country. It used to run on Win98 b4 I got it 4matted.

Actually what happened is, during startup the pop box comes up (asking u for ur username and password) but I didnt know the password to the system

When I hit ESC or cancel, an exception error comes up then the computer just idles so i decided i'm gonna re-install win98 all together

And the machine didn't have the original W98 CD? Is this a brand machine or a build?

If it's not too old you can consider buying a copy of XP and installing it to that PC.

This is a built machine. I considered getting Win XP, ME, and NT but then the system doestn have enough RAM to run these OS. It can only runs Win95/98, that's how crappy it is. I was thinkin of increasing the RAM then install XP but....

Back to my problem - all I need is a windows 98 instalation cd :(
