Dumb Question About AGP 4X

Can an AGP 2X / 4X video card run in a straight AGP 4X slot. Am new to this game, and would appreciate an honest reply. Thank you. :confused:

If you have a card that runs at 2x, it will play fine in a 4x slot. The slot will run at 2x speeds with no problem.
