Give us a little more information. What OS are you using? What did your mate do?

Is it an Asus motherboard? Asus had some probs with XP as an operating system and had a bios upgrade to fix the prob.

Since you are restarting instead of shutting down, I'm guessing that you're using WinME and have the option enabled "restart after system crash" (sorry I can't remember the exact wording at the moment). . . I believe you can reach this setting by Control Panel/System. Under one of the tabs you'll see that "restart on .." option. If you uncheck it, at least when you crash you have a chance of viewing your error message to help troubleshoot it.

And, if you do indeed have WinMe installed, you have the option of using System Restore and restoring to a point before this trouble started (might want to disconnect your new wheel while trying this). It's most likely a driver problem with the USB game controller (wheel) that you added. Check for an updated driver for the wheel.
