What are you using to play the cd's? Might check the program settings to see if you can enable 5.1 output.

im using the cd rom. in my properties it says 5.1 enabled, is that where it should be, ihave four small speakers and 1 bass speaker this would be considered 4.1 right?i have on board 6 channel audio im just not sure if i have it set up properly.

I know Logitech, and other, speakers have a problem when playing at low volumes, the sound is "unbalanced". So then it sounds as if it is only coming out of one speaker(s).

One way I have found to kind of get around it is to have the volume bar on the program you use to listen to mp3's with, or the Master Out bar in your little taskbar sound panel thing, at say around halfway, or lower. Then turn the volume on your speakers up more to compensate.

i have some z-540's excellent speakers! yes they are 4.1.... first turn the forsaken M3d off, then turn fade to max to get the 2 back speakers working.... also you say your SOUND is built in??? the mobo?? does it have 4 inputs on the back where the sound card is??? as the speakers need the extra port for the back speakers otherwise your doomed to using that M3d crap witch sound FLAT..... you should have 2 inputs pluged into the sound card for 4 channel, not jus one and if your card lacks that input like alot of built on do you do not get 4 channel sound. also under multimedia in control panel for win9x you will need to set it to quadraphonic sound, and if your using Win2k/Xp the same setting is under Sounds and multimedia in control panel. These speakers rock for the price class, only thing i wish of them was more power, to the sats, there not as powerful as i want...
