Device Manager>Modem will also give you info about the modem and the current drivers.

a big yellow means alot of things. but one thing it means for sure is u have a problem with it. It can either be a hadrware that was NOT installed properly. Or something conflicted with it causing it to stop working. I would suggest uninstalling it and removin it comepletely. and then installing it again. or right click it and troubleshoot it down.. good luck.

Have you tried Belarc Advisor mentioned in a earlier post? It might work even though you have a problem.

Microsoft Virtual Private Networking Adapter
Motorola SurfBoard 4100 USB Cable Modem
Network Card MAC Address: 00:20:40:A0:4B:FF
Network IP Address: 66.214.174.129

You'll have to pull the modem out of the computer, and look for any identifying marks on it. Ideally, an FCC ID# would be best, but even the numbers off the biggest 2 chips on it would help.
Post what you can find here, someone will identify it, and probably find drivers for you.
FYI, Belarc can only identify what's already installed in the computer. If the modem is not installed, Belarc can't help much.
Another case of using 3rd party software to do what windows already does.
Just take a peek at it and you'll know for sure.
