Nowadays, game are only available majority on the windows OS,but if the situation is vise versa with Linux.Can Linux perform better than Windows in terms of graphic ?Took example of the Conter-Strike game,Had anyone noticed a slight difference than Windows?I not sure coz I haven't get my hands on Linux before...........

It can, the catch is DirectX and Direct3D, both requiring a Microsoft OS.

Any game with an OpenGL renderer could easily be ported to Linux, and some have been and worked really well (Quake2, UT, etc.)

And yes, for the purposes of UT, it did perform much better in Linux than in Windows ;).

Linux can be a decent gaming platform indeed. The problem is that nowadays few programmers wanna use OpenGL. Another problem is that the Linux community is still smal compared to the Windows followers, so it's not very profitable to program for Linux.
