I have the ATI Radeon 8500 AGP (i think it is a 128) and i was wondering how to set it up so that it will do output to my television. It has s-video out, but whenever i try to hook it up, i get a black and white picture, and when i try to record video, nothinshows up on the tape. i have no idea how to set this up and was just wondering how i could go about doing this. thanks in advance. also, sometimes when i come out of sleep mode, i have a picture that is all jumbled with different colors, and doesn't appear right. i have to restart the compuer for it to display properly. this only happens once in a while, and it doesn't bother me, but i figured i would try.

thanx

Are you doing all the steps. Right click on ATI symbol next to your clock. Go to settings->Display. Then click on settings tab, then advanced button. Then you have ATI's control panel. Click displays tab. Hit the power button on TV. Set up your TV as primary adapter by clicking on the left button in the TV control. You can set monitor as secondary so you can still control from your monior. That is what I do, with monitor as secondary, video appears black but you still control windows fine. Maybe you have TV as secondary. If you do not have a TV with S-video, you should have gotten an adapter that switches it to yellow component cord.

is there any way to make the picture in color, because i have gotten that far before. i would like it to be in color, but maybe that is not possible. also, when i did have it before, i was able to see the screen on my tv, but when i recorded video, no video recorded to the tape. you know when you open up windows media player, and you see the outilned area where the video will be, and then the video plays in the small area, not full screen (i know how to get to full screen), but on the video tape, you still just get the black screen there. my settings are probably wrong, but who knows?

Hobey19-

Try this as a troubleshooter...

I'm assuming you have installed the ATI Multimedia Center...

If not, get the latest version off the ATI website...

Now go and find the ATI Multimedia Center folder in your Start Menu...

Run the Configuration utility and click the "PC Check" tab

Let the tests run and note(if any) the problems reported.

ATI will recommend a remedy for each specific problem, for example a DirectX problem, video capture issue, etc.

Good luck and have a great week.
