Hello,

i finally realize why CS suddely would freeze on my computer. It simply just freezes and keeps playing the last sound it played over and over again, often requiring a hard reboot. The reason? The CPU got over 60C! It doesnt usually happen because my room's cool but the AC's been broken @ my dorm so it hit that mark again.

Now... I know 60's kinda hot, but not near any danger levels. Is this happened to anyone before?? My CPU's an AMD 1.2Ghz and its always ran hot and freezing at that temperature's sort of strange... anyone has any input on that? My heatsink's well placed, ArticSilver and all, but still bad temps... case is much much cooler at about 30C or below sometimes...

I was playing Warcraft 3 and my computer rebooted at about 58 degrees. My processor was of course fine, but it didn't like running that hot. What kind of heatsink you got? Fan setup?

If it wasn't a problem until this heatwave (or broken AC), and the ambient temperature will soon be lower, may not need to worry.

Perhaps your graphics card is overheating?

I use 1 80mm Intake fan and a stock Intel HS/Fan with "El Cheapo" paste. My hottest gaming temps (5 hours of RTCW) was 48'C. A lot depends on your air temperature also. Your CPU temps shouldn't get hotter than 10'C above your case temps.

*looks outside* cold and rainy, I guess I wont have to worry until next year, but by then... this wont be my rig anymore. Hehe, my HSF its a nice copper base DragonOrb3 7000RPM+, got some pretty decent reviews around.
