Is it safe to delete all the files in the temp folder in windows 2000 Pro? It's at home on 1 computer. I use to have Windows 98 and I was told to delete the files in the temp folder for better performance.

here (http://www.experts-exchange.com/Operating_Systems/Win98/Q_10236687.html) is a link that discusses deleting temp files in windows.
Generally, it is safe to do so. If you have any files that you are currently working on, it is best to back up the data first, reboot your computer, then delete the temp files. You can also use disk cleanup option by right clicking your hdd, and selecting disk cleanup. You can then review the files you wish to delete. Worst case scenario: you manually empty out your windows/temp folder, then wait a few days, and use restore file option from recycle bin if you need to replace a deleted file.
