View Full Version : Show Desktop Icon
I lost my 'show desktop' icon from quick launch area.... how am i going to return the icon back to its place?
TQ
In Windows\System folder there is the show desktop icon. I don't remember how it's called, but take a look at that folder and look for the icon. Then just make a shortcut to it and place it in the quicklaunch bar. That's it :)

it's not there..... i'm using Win XP
Oops, my fault. Thought it was Win98 but this is the Win2K/XP forum :o
Well, I too have WinXP, so now I can give you detailed info :)
Create a text file (i.e. rightclick on your desktop, new > text file), open it and insert the following lines:
[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop
Save the text file, then just rename it to desktop.scf. Actually you can choose the name as you like it, only the extension scf is important.
Now just move that in the quicklaunch bar and enjoy.
