I'm looking for a free zip program. Are there any good ones out there?

Why bother with nagware when program like EnZip are free and work just as well.

There are also other ones like FreeZip.

glc,
Nagware? I married one of those.:D

I guess the "nagging" is what I don't want but Winzip is a very nice program.

DrZaius,
Thanks for the links. I'll see what they have to offer.

I like Win Zip the best. There are some newer programs that actually do a little better job. I guess I am just used to WinZip and don't want to change.

Hi Carl,

I came across ZipCentral (http://zipcentral.iscool.net/) and UltimateZip (http://www.ultimatezip.com/) while checking out some freeware websites earlier this year. They're both free and similar to WinZip.

Thanks Cricket.
I'm looking for one that is very user friendly. I'll look at each one or end up buying Winzip. Winzip is so easy, a dummy could use it. Fits me to a tee. :p

WinAce is good also. Haven't had any problems with it, and I believe it unzips more file extentions then Winzip does. More difficult to use though.

I have used UnPackPro or something like that before. It handled all the winzip, winrar, and winace decompression algorithms on wintel machines (lotta wins on that). It integrated easily into the shell and was completely non-invasive. If you need wizards and graphical interfaces though, I would consider something else.

Respectfully,
