That is more of a personal decision. I have a 19" Viewsonic on one computer and a 17" on another and prefer the 19" for my personal use.

I recently upgraded from an old 17" to a 19" Perfect Flat CRT. I am very happy with the added space, glare reduction and clarity.

Go for the 19" Viewsonic. Period.
I think it's a matter of what you prfer. I don't like anything smaller than nineteen inch on a desktop. Twenty One is even better!

i am searching for a 19 or 21 inch myself.....i have a 17 but that will be used for my other system and the 15 inch will go to my son.....
If you have enough space then go for the larger monitor. The more size you get, the more space you have on your desktop.

if price isnt a consideration, then.....
.....space is.
I couldn't handle a 21" CRT, maybe not even a 19" if it's not a short neck.
As long as you have space you can get a larger monitor.

The biggest that you can afford and that will fit on your desk.

As big as your pocketbook and real estate can handle. I have a nice 17" TFT but if I had the deskspace I would have a 21" flat screen.

I started with a 17". Bought a 19" about 2 yrs. ago and don't know how I lived without it.

BIGGER!! I didn't think I would really notice the difference when I went from 15" to 17" but it really is significant. Now I want a 19"
Good Luck,

As other members pointed out, make sure you have the space on your desk for a large monitor. Some of them are really huge so take some measurements first to verify it will fit. I have a 19" Trinitron at home and I had to remove the swivel base to get it to fit under the shelves above my desk. Even then, it just barely fits. If space is not a concern, then I agree, go with the biggest your pocketbook can afford!

Gotta go with the 19". 19" monitors have entered the "sweet spot" in pricing because you don't save all that much by buying a smaller screen. A few years back, jumping up to a 19" from a 17" usually meant at least a doubling in price. Not true anymore though.
Go with a highly rated brand though. Viewsonic or Mitsubishi are your best bets. Those two usually outperform the Sony's in the various reviews, yet they don't have the premium in price that Sony can charge.

Samsung is another good brand to look at.
