I was wondering with all the smart people here if it is possible to write a programm that adds voltage adjustments to the bios on pc without having to replace the bios?
I've been trying to overclock my little c2 600 but all I can get out of it is 83mhz. Stupid me didn't think about the voltage when I bought the dfi CA61 mobo few months ago, which is socket 370, so sloket is out for me!

This would be possible if the system board utilized "programmable" regulators. Most do not so no would be my first guess. If you have a slot1 board then a "slocket" is the answer. If you have a "370" board then you have to resort to soldering to get voltage mods. Some manufacturers offer BIOS updates that include voltage tweaks, you might look into it.

Thx for the reply. looked at the bios updates they don't have 1 with voltage adjustments.

Where might I get the info about soldering, like what I need and where to put?

Do a search on your particular system board. Somewhere someone has made a voltage mod. Next, go to Toms hardware site. This is one smart fella as he has all his ducks in a row. Some of the topics he covers may be a little over technical for some. To modify your own board, great familiarity with soldering is a MUST.
