Just interested in seeing if there are any console gamers here, and if so, which of the three powerhouses do you own? I don't want to hear about any oldies, everybody has oldies.
Personally, I have a PS2 with a few games and online adapter. I wouldn't trade it for anything. I'm thinking of getting an X-Box for Halo and Halo alone, no other games that it has are any good. What about you guys? Anyone else play console games?

I have a Gamecube, but I really dont play it. I play more PC games, especially now that I have UT2003. In fact the only GCN game that I own is Rogue Leader, which is cool.
IMHO, dont buy an Xbox for just one game, because Summer of 03, Halo is being ported to the PC. From what Ive read, it will be an excellent copy of the Xbox version, which will look even better if you have a high end video card. I plan to get it when it comes out, looks sweet.

None of them can compare or equal a PC as a gaming system.
That's why I don't care about them. I've never own a console nor do I plan to. If I wanna play a fighting game I go to the slot machines.

Pc's are tops, but if i was to buy a console I would get an X-box.
Gamecube comes in second (Nintendo has great games).
Playstation2 is not welcome in my house.
Sega was always my number one choice for consoles, but since they are software only now, I go elsewhere for a console (if i ever want one). If I bought a console, Sega's game support for it would be a major factor in my decision, therefore making it a hard choice since they produce for all platforms now, but it looks like the best games from Sega are on GC or Xbox, (although VirtuaFighter 4 looks hella nice on Playstation2. That system might be allowed in the house if that game was present)
Another plus for Xbox is the superior design and hardware used.

i like consoles. they load quickly and do what they're supposed to do. plus, you can have multiplayers right there with you, instead of spread over a network or on the internet.
i voted xbox. it has better graphics that a ps2, and i think it has better games than a gamecube. it seems to me that gamecube won't be around for long. i could be wrong, but that's how i feel.
the xbox controller is a little weird at first, but it's easy to get used to. and they sell those s-type controllers, that are smaller.

those new controllers are a must if you get an Xbox (i would say)
Homer brings up some good points. Consoles have a few advantages over PC gaming. Sitting around with friends. all on the same machine. Fun Fun Fun. (but I hate the small 4-way split screen. You need a large screen to really fully enjoy that)

Thats one thing Halo and Xbox really rule in--multiplayer games with your friends around by linking the xboxes together and getting 16 people along for the ride, its insane!
But PS2 still has more game choice and something for everyone out there, and now it's sporting online play (which is okay for broadband users but makes no difference to dialup users like me cuz very few games support dial up.)

The last console I played was playstation I, the only reason I bought it was to play Final Fantasy when it came out! If i were ever to get another game console it would definitly be Playstation II... The other system have never really interested me... I also think the game cube will last long...

I have a game cube, cuz it has the whole nintendo line of games. Gotta love smash bros and zelda, although that new Mario game looks pretty dumb.

i've been seeing a lot of ads for the new disney game, and i'm actually sort of surprised that it's on ps2 and not gamecube.

Kingdom Hearts? Made by SQUARE and Disney. Although Square is going back to producing for Nintendo as well, the deal was struck after Kingdom Hearts began development as a PS2 only game. Maybe in the future they'll port it to GC, but not for awhile. That's why.
The reason I don't like GC is because all the games are so childish. Sure, Metroid and Mario are classics and IMO, look like they're great games on the GC, but the new cel-shaded zelda looks so HORRIBLE that the reason I wouldnt buy a GC is because I would be associated with that game.
That and because its color is Barney Purple with a purse handle. :)

I got a PS2 for 2 reasons: 1)it has the biggest library of games, and 2)I owned a PS1 and was impressed with its performance and how long it lasted. Plus, PS2 is backward-compatible with the PS1 games. Every time Nintendo puts out a new console, they change the shape of the game cartridge or put it on a different media. Don't know if Xbox has what it takes for the long haul. Sony is tough to beat, as proven by the PS1 wars.
