Is it normal that you can see ALL files for both computers when you are looking at them with the XP computer, but not ALL when you are looking at them with the 98 computer? I have file and print sharing for both, but if I want to copy files from one computer to the other I have to do it from the XP computer can't do it from 98 computer. Thanks.

Depends what folders you actually have shared on each of those PC's

First let me clarify I set the Networking Wizard as to "I connect to the Internet independent from each"(In other words I don't think I have the so called Internet Connect Sharing) since I have a 56k modem in each of them.
On XP I see two options for sharing.
1. Local Sharing & Security(Shared Documents).
How do you select if you want to share ALL your files?
Is this only to be share between these 2 computers ONLY?
2. Network Sharing & Security
On this one I have 2 boxes to check.
A. Share this folder with the Network
B. Allow Network users to change my files.
Does this Network Sharing & Security referring to sharing my files on the Internet or between both of my 2 PC's?
How is this one to be set?
Thanks, I'm learning my way around.

The sharing is just for the network of the two PC's but remember that is what the firewalls and zone alarm software is all about cause once you dial up to the www you are networked onto it via that dialup modem. That other box decides wether the shared folder is going to be read only or users from the other PC can have read and write access to that folder. On either PC if you use windows explorer you should see a little arm under any folder or drive that is shared. Don't forget you can give share access to the entire drive, which it sounds like is enabled on the one PC.

Can you be more specific? Which sharing is for the network of the two computers,Local Sharing & Security or Network Sharing & Security?
I lost you with this statement,"that is what the firewalls and zone alarm software is all about cause once you dial up to the www you are networked onto it via that dialup modem".
"That other box decides ", sorry but which other box are you referring to?
Can you use my previous post as reference? Thanks.
I can see and manipulate both PC's C:drives from the XP PC, but I can only manipulate C:drive of the Win98 PC from the Win98 PC, not the C:drive of the XP PC.

Open up Explorer and right click ont he drive that you want to share... A menu should pop up... Select the option that says "Share" (something like that, I'm using spanish version)
Then just follow the instructions...
The C drive on the XP box is already shared - but it's a system share (denoted by the share name being C$) and not accessible as a user share. You have to select "New Share" and share it, then add a user to the XP user manager corresponding to the login being used on the 98 box.

Ok Glc, I think I got the first part down. How can I "add a user to the XP user manager corresponding to the login being used on the 98 box"?
Also I noticed when I copied a file from the My Documents to Shared Files it was much bigger in Shared Files than in My Documents. 580MB(my Documents) Vs. 4.5Gigs.(shared files). It's an Mp3 collection.
Also I guess there is no need to keep all this music in 2 locations like that. Is there any problem with deleting the Mp3 collection from My Documents now that I copied it to Shared Files? Thanks.
Right click My Computer - Manage. Local Users and Groups - Users. Right click, Add User. Use the username and password that you use to log in to the 98 box.
