What do you think of this Router??

Being looking at the Router market for a while and this one seems to be a good deal. Just want your guys opinions.

I don't have that particular model, but have a SMC7004BR and have been very pleased.

No experience with LG CDRW's.

I have the SMC Barricade Router, and I'm extremely pleased with it. It's probably what most would call "second best" to a Linksys, but there's only 1 difference I can find, and it's probably not even noticeable to most. Well worth the savings in $ for you.
LG CDRW's are as good as any, minus the "burnproof" option.
I've got an 8x4x32 that has been working steadily for over 2 years with no problems, and the newer faster ones seem as good.
I've also had no trouble using any software with it. It seems that it will burn with any writing program around, including the built in XP junk.

The burner when I first saw it on the futureshop.ca homepage it was listed at $0.01 with discount and with two mail-in rebates, but since each rebate required an actual UPC (not a photocopy) you could only do one and since I don't live in Toronto I can only use the rebate for the lesser amount. That is the drive actually costs $70.01 with rebates and discount, I don't need a second burner so I won't be buying that anytime soon.

Picked up the router, it sure is small, was easy to set-up using the wizard on CD. I look forward to playing with the more advanced features when I get the time. Thanks guys for the advice. Now, hopefully that mail in rebate actually comes.

Just fixed a glitch with my ISP and the mail server. In the pop3 and smtp they say to use shawmail but with the router installed this did noy work, I did a little research and found out that I needed the actual IP addresses of those servers. I emailed shaw using the webmail feature at approximately 1-2am and had a answer that worked by 6am. Also I activated the packet inspection feature of the built in firewall and my downloads speeds from http://bandwidthplace.com/speedtest/
have dropped from about 1.2-1.3 to 0.8, is this a expected drop when using a hardware firewall with packet inspection??

I have found that your speed varies depending where you are doing the test. I always use dslreports for my speed tests. You may want to go there and run their tweak test. It will let you know if your settings are in range or not. They have a small, free proggie called DrTCP that you use to make RWIN settings and such without you having to enter the registry.
I have the Linksys BEFSR41 and I consistantly get 1328 speed.
