i got this software with a sony cd-rw has any one used it? i don't use cd-rw often and every time i try nero it takes me 15 minutes to figure it out then it' hit or miss.i had roxio and it was real simple, thats what i need.
The latest Nero has "Express" - this is as easy as anything to use.

The Sony CD Extreme is really easy to use as well.
If that's NOT what came with your burner, get it at: http://www.sony.co.th/servicesupport.asp
p.s. It's free.
The new version of Nero should upgrade a licensed 5.0.

glc i got the nero with a lite-on cdrw they want a serial no.for it to upgrade and i dont have that,i guess it's because i didn't buy it.
reboot i down loaded cd extreme i didn't understand what to do,it was zipped and it ask where to unzip it to and gave choices like word pad, note pad, etc.i didn't know what to do.
You need to install Winzip or some other unzipping utility - and unzip it to an empty folder.
The serial number is found at the top of NeroHistory.log in the Nero folder, copy and paste leaving off the * at the end.

The reason that you don't see the serial number is because you are running the demo version of the Nero software.

i'll try deleating all nero and re-install,i guess what happened,i upgraded to 5.5 ,they asked for sn which i didn't have and the only way i could get it to run was to select demo.

it worked, reinstalled, went to regedit-s/n was there. then down loaded 5.5 with express and it didn't ask for s/n just installed.oh well go figure.
Correct - you have to install the OEM version first - then upgrade it.
