I have a 3pin thermaltake 60 I want to use as the fan for my cpu. I bought a 431 watt enermax psu and it came with a 3 to 4 pin (3 pin is male). Thermaltake also came with a 3 to 4 pin adapter. Can I dasiy chain the two so I have an rpm sensor and the fan attached to a molex (rather than by a 3 to 4 pin with rpm sensor)? Or is there another use for this adapter on the psu?
thanks

Hi mindwave_21,
Take a look at this RPM adapter (http://2cooltek.safeshopper.com/58/300.htm?13) and see if you can duplicate the wiring with what you have. Power for the fan will connect to the power supply and the RPM sensor will connect to the motherboard CPU fan header.

right
I can plug the 3 to 4 pin adapter that thermaltake supplied onto the fan to change it to molex, then I can attach the enermax adapter onto the 4 pin that comes from the other adapter (still with me?) and attach the 3 pin (enermax) to the cpufan on my mobo. sound right? I was just wondering if the daisy chain is recommended.

my mistake, the enermax adaptor is still a regular 3 to 4 pin. They looked different , but turned out to be the same thing. Oh well, thanks for your help cricket. I'll stick my neck out and put the thermaltake directly into the mobo. Should be fine (power draw doesn't seem too bad and runs under 5000 rpm) and it's the only fan I'm attaching to the mobo anyway, other than the enermax psu rpm detector (465 FC).
