I'm trying to download stuff from my friends server, but everytime I try, the window opens, but it's transparent, like the download has frozen or something. I checked with my friend, and he said that his server hasn't given any indication that I've attempted a download from him. It must be something wrong with the internet on my computer, because I've tried it on a different computer and it's worked, so the problem isn't on his end. Any idea what it could be?

P.S. I'm running Windows XP Pro, if that info helps any.

try using a ftp client like WS_ftp or cute ftp. is the download box frozen, when it asks if you want to save or open, or when it actually starts to download?

The way my friends server is set-up, when you download something, a box comes up saying your download is about to start. After a few seconds it then asks you where you want to save it. On my computer the box comes up, and freezes. It never reaches the point where it asks me where I want to save the file. No downloading has actually taken place, because my friends server logs downloads and the only notice he gets from my IP address is when I log on to his server, nothing more. Now we're thinking it might be his server, because a few other people have this problem, but we can't figure out what the PC's have in common that's casuing the problem.
