The ad banner in Opera started talking to me the other day. Talking ads? I might have to make the switch to Mozilla.

Hi,
What version of Opera are you running? I'm also running Opera and haven't yet encountered an ad that talks.

It's always the same ad that talks.
It's happened twice.

I'm running 6.04 and haven't seen this yet. Do you think the ads might be different between 6.04 and 6.05? Thanks.

I went from 6.03 to 6.05 . It was a while after I upgraded to 6.05 that the ad spoke up. It's only happened twice and I'm still using it.(6.05)
No one else has seen this first hand?
Nope - and I've been using 6.05 daily since it came out.

I remember kazaa (I think it was 1.5) having talking ads.
I use opera 6.01. What's the difference between 6.01 and 6.05?
Minor improvements and bugfixes, plus some security patches. It's easy enough to update - you don't need to download the Java version, just get the small one and install over the top.

Well, bosco, you're not crazy. And it's not just Opera. It happened to me today. I use IE6 - not Opera. It was a marketing company's banner ad that showed up on FHM's web site. I thought I was crazy when it whistled at me! Then a few minutes later, it barked!
Some sites have had music and sounds for a long time. I guess this is just the next evolution.
