I have the game called Earth & Beyond, released by Electronic Arts. There are some sound effects in the game that I would like to use for my system in general, but I can't figure out how to get them so I can use them.

There's a folder full of things like .mix files that are about 20mb each that would lead me to believe they're sound files.

But how can I open these and get the sounds out??

Thanks in advance.

Hi mst1,
I don't have the game, but I noticed that the sound files of some games can be opened in any player (like Winamp or Windows Media Player) so give it a try.
Just right-click the file, select open with, and select a player.
It's possible that the files are encrypted, in this case, the files won't play.

I found this great program online one day. Its called soundcapture you can try that. It will record anything coming through your computers sound card and save it as an mp3. It's about 260kb and it runs in dos. If you need help setting it up let me know cause its kinda confusing at first.

you'll also need lame_enc.dll, which I have zipped for you. Unzip it to the same directory as soundcapture
