Of late the internet on my family's dsl connection has experienced a significant slowdown, more so for web pages than our download speed.

I susupect that it could be due to our home network on our D-link di-704p router. Lately the My Network Places folder has had to search a while, 15sec or so to open up. Is there any software that I can use to test our network?

Also, I have tested our connection speed at dslreports, and it reports around 650-720, from an advertised 768. I do not know if this is slower than before, as I never tested it before its been going slow.

Hi,

Go ahead and clear the browser cache/cookies on all computers first. Does this help any? If not, disconnect the DSL modem from the router and plug it straight into one of the computers to see if you still get the slowdown, that will determine if the router could perhaps be at fault. Let us know what you can come up with and hope this helps.

Holy @#$@! Just clearing the tifs and cookies sped it right back up. Thanks floppyman!

BTW, is the cache different from temp internet files, just to be sure?

TIF is the M$ term for browser cache.
