I know this is a really simple one but can some one tell me how i reformat and install windows on my pc i have forgot

Miz, that is a bit wordy for me. Personally I can break it down to you like this. Assuming you are going to load Win98 or a newer OS (like XP or 2000), simply make the CD-ROM a boot device by going into the BIOS and setting it as such, load the cd in the drive, and the rest is simply answering the questions the OS asks. If this doesn't help, write back.

If you're formatting and reinstalling, may as well fdisk /mbr while you're doing it. I'd delete and rebuild the partion(s), too. As long as you're doing it, may as well do it all.

I'm with you on that, but you can delete and recreate the partitions by booting to the cd.
