I'm hoping you have Windows XP?... i found http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q317714 to follow... unfortunately, a couple of the links provided there don't seem to work...

ps.. you may have to uninstall a couple of programs to get back to normal... if you have XP, you can try to do a system restore.
