Hi guys,

I DL Mandrake 9. My burner went downhill after the wife spilled coke on it(dont ask). So i copied the ISO files( all 3 of them) to a HD and gave the HD to a friend and he burned the CD's for me.

Now my first question is the install any different than Windows(as far as booting to the cd and follow the instructions) or is there anything else i should know.

Also will the cd's work if he just dragged and dropped when burning the ISO files?

any help would be great thanks

Nope it wouldnt work with drag and drop .. with drag and drop all he's done is burnt the ISO on disk .. it has to be openned as a disk image by a program that recognizes that its an image.

Other than that, yeah if you burn it right, you should be able to boot with the CD.

Thanks guys, I will read through that link...

and i will add the coasters to my collection..or even better i will have them burnt again. I should be able to that with the cd correct after i open the files that i need correct. I would rather do it with the cd's than give the HD again..

If you open the CD in explorer and can see the ISO there instead of a whole bunch of files then year u have a coaster .. you could however give the same CDs and ask your friend to use something like Nero or fireburner to burn from the ISO's (the mistake he made was to burn the ISO :)). onto new CDs
