thinking of try it which one is the easy's to use and easy's to dowload with windows?

I think that the easiest to install and use distro for a Windows person is Mandrake 9.0. (Some might say Lindows, but I haven't had much experience with it.) Redhat's latest version is suppost to be much easier than its older versions. Suse's latest distro is a true three click install. I would suggest you buy a copy with a book instead of downloading for free. You are buying the book and ready made CDs. The book is worth it.

I second the book approach. Printed material sitting on your desk while you try to learn to do something can be invaluble.

Computer Hobbiest is right, any of those distros' will be fairly easy to install and get going to your satisfaction. And remember, when it comes to learning Linux - Google is your best friend :D

I thirdify the book motion, adn I believe you can set up google to search specificly for linux references. Go to advanced searches, and go to the bottom, and select the linux link.

The "Red Hat Linux 8 Bible" by Christopher Negus is great book. It covers everything from installation to server configuration. Great for beginners. It also comes with the complete OS on CD.
