Did downloading a patch (UPnP) from Microsoft cause Windows Messenger's "Talk" feature to quit working? :(

There I believe, nothing there about it disabling the Talk function in MSN
I trust you are using Windows XP? Perhaps you have a virus (long shot I know :))
Try AVG from www.grisoft.com (free virus checker) if you haven't already
Thanks and HTH

Reading some posts at MSNs messenger forum. One post says to upgrade firmware for router.

RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove
Start>Run type this is the box if your using "WinXP" press ok this will remove messenger completely. then go to messenger.msn.com and reinstall that will be the easiest way.
If you not using XP uninstall it and reinstall it.
