Hi. I just got my slotket yesterday to install my Celeron 2 and I UT'ed with it for a while and then I OC'ed (with stock cooling) it to 711MHZ by changing the FSB to 75MHZ. Since I OC'ed it I played UT again (no lock ups, no blue screens or nothing)

I will let it run for about a week and then I will OC again and give it 85MHZ FSB.

BTW. What HS should I use ? Should I use this golden orb (http://2cooltek.safeshopper.com/1/107.htm?906) or should I use this Vantec cooler (http://2cooltek.safeshopper.com/1/8.htm?906) ?

Just wanted to ley you all know that this is one great chip :).

My 2 cents :D

I choose the golden orb because I've seen what it can do and read lots of good reviews for it. Although the Vantec looks good too.

I'm running my Celeron 600 at 900 with a Golden Orb and I've had no problems yet.

OK guys. I am gonna buy the Golden Orb.

I was looking at that Vantec Cooler because the fan flows more air but I am gonna go with what I know works.

I am gonna order my Golden Orb tonight ;)

BTW tool, what FSB are you using to have that C2 600 run at 900MHZ ???

He is using 100mhz fsb. 9x100. You could hit 950 with your celery with good cooling. 9.5x100.

I would have suggested getting the 600 or 566 celeron but you sound set on getting the 633 so....

I've been reading on newsgroups that alot of people are having troubles getting the 633 to overclock as easily as the two above mentioned chips. I don't know why.

And yes, I'm running mine at 100MHz FSB. Bios shows PIII Running at 901 MHz.
System runs cool as a cucumber and solid. Not one lockup or BSOD as of yet.

Hey Tool, I could not get the 566 or 600 because they were all sold out. The 633 was all they had left.

I did not want to wait. :D

useing the golden orb on my 566@850 works great as long as the room temp don't get too warm, had air turned off and the windoes closed, yester day it warmed up, room got over 85F cpu shut down with seti running, cpu temp was over 116F,
have air on right now and temp has droped 20F in the last 10 min. so if you plan on running the system 24/7 with seti on plan keeping room temp below 80F. this only pertains to a 66fsb running at 100, any other fsb (lower) the temp is not as critical, so keep a eye on it.

Carlos,
What mobo you have?
Abit, Asus?
Try highest fsb that without problems, then try that for a week.

I have a Giga-Byte board. 66, 75, 83, 100, 112, 124, 133, 140, 150 are the FSB's that my board has. I will OC it more when I get my Golden Orb. :)

I too have just bought a celeron 11 633 and an abit sL6 motherboard. I've just overclocked it to 713 as i only have the standard heatsink, excellent cpu though:)

out of curiosity, what brand of memory are you guys using? I still can't get my celeron 2 600 to run at 100fsb.as far as I can get is the windows me splash screen. It won't freeze up but it won't go past the screen..

I'm using a generic PC 133 memory. Bought it from Floppyman.

Hi raydioactive. In my BIOS post screen it says 713MHZ and in Windows ME it says 711MHZ. Which one should I believe ?

Depends whether you wanna believe Gigabyte math or Microsoft math.

both my 566's running 850, one has pc-100, the other pc-133 I can see no differance, of corse I won't, they are both running at 100fsb. one still has the stock h/f installed and is staying at 88F, go fiqure that.
