Domain Name Help [Archive]

I've decided to buy a domain name. For personal use I'm currently using a subdomain given to me by a friend who owns evilgeeks.net.

He has setup me up with an NS record to my DNS server, so I have total control over the domain. I've finally decided to go with my own instead of mooching off of him.

His domain, evilgeeks.net, is pretty cool. It's a cool name for a website, as well as a cool name to out-source subdomains and hosts to your friends. (name.evilgeeks.net...seriously...that's cool!)

I was looking for ideas on the same type of domain name. Because I'll be running my own DNS for this domain once I buy it, I will be willing to give out some subdomains (to you guys, among others) to those that wish to run their own DNS servers, or just some host records.

Some ideas I've had so far:

TECH-DOMINION.NET
GEEK-DOMINION.NET
HAWAYEE.NET (Yeaaaa....I'm gonna go to Hawayee...this is gonna be great!)

It's my first attempt so don't be to harsh. But the first thing that jumped to mind was "SpinDockter.net". To close to Spin Doctors for you?

So no one has any cool domain's they'd like to have a subdomain of? I figured a lot more people would be jumping in to give me ideas in order to get a subdomain for free.

For example, if I do end up getting tech-dominion.com, I'd be offering subdomains with whateveryouwant.tech-dominion.com for you to control.

Nay, not doing it for the free domains (already got two). Just doing it to help someone and pass a little time. I thought maddockter was pretty good. But I've been known for my bad taste in some things. Good luck in your search.

I did forget to say that I'd like something that isn't exactly associated with myself or my name. I'm looking for something generically cool. (I’m now waiting for someone to say genericallycool.com) :)
