ok, i just finished backing up all my important files from my 30 GB drive. I am going to format it,
partition 20 GB for windows rest for Linux

Going to install windows, not even finish the drivers, then install linux in the remaining space and see if Mandrake will correctly set up my dual boot, going by the way it has liked this PC I beleive it will. this is exciting. Finally getting my foot in the door to linux.

Bring back memories of the Linux Red Hat server we had where I used to work, I could add users to the system, but other then That I was totally lost on it.

I know what linux can do for me, know learning how to make it do it is another thing.

I hope it workd out for you. I really enjoy my Linux-only box at home.

Just one suggestion, set up a FAT32 partition for data files that can be accessed from either Windoze or Linux (i.e., MP3, videos, word processing, etc). A FAT32 partition won't present any read/write problems for either Linux or Windows.

Maybe two :D !! Use the "Expert" install mode in Mandrake, you will have better control over your install while still having good default conditions available.

Man this is going great, I love the fact that I have no drivers to load, well in linux. I have not installed the windoze drivers yet.

I have FTP access to linux on PC 2 from PC1. this is just too cool. :D

Linux is now going to be my internet machine.
