View Full Version : AOL Instant Msg Svc
Need opinions. A friend has invited me to join AOL Instant Messenger Service. This is a good friend. And when AOL is mentioned I generally shy away from it because AOL is so self restrictive. But I owe this friend full considertion.
Giving regular AOL their enjoyable due, what is the opinion of the Board regarding non-AOL users signing up for AOL IMS?
I am cable, IE5.5/OE5.5. For reference: http://www.aol.com/aim.
AIM is a good service. Just review your settings carefully, especially ones relating to security and privacy.

I agree with GLC in the security issue. Take care.
Thanx glc and BlackHoleSun - You have told me just whanted I needed to know. Appreciate you feed in.
I've been using AOL instant messanger for awhile. Beats the hell outta ICQ. Strangely (coming from AOL anyways), the software for AIM is pretty small, simple, and quick.
I like it.

I wouldn't touch AOL internet provision with a barge pole but AOL's Instant messenger, yep its the best around and bug free. I've used it for a year without a problem.
Do appreciate your replies. All info is always a plus.

I haven't tried AOL, but I've been using ICQ since it came out. Haven't had any problems with ICQ. I still use 99b.
