Linux RH Install Problem

I've been trying to install Linux Red Hat. When I boot to the linux partition I ge the error "error 28: Selected item cannot fit into memory"
I used grub as the boot manager, installed on the MBR. I have WinXP & Win 98 on the same machine, all running fine.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Is there a way to find out if RH 8 would work better with by board? I also want to install Mandrake 9 at the same time & try them both out. I will need it for internet and networking.

What I'm trying to do is find a dist. that I like, then get a hardware modem & a book or two to use Linux. Problem is tht I need to get it up & running on my machine first. Any info. would be greatly appreciated!

Okay, I installed Mandrake 9, everything went well exept for one problem. The mouse pointer stays locked to the upper left corner of the screen. I can still select icons, I just can't see where the real "invisible" mouse pointer is.
I have a logitech wheel mouse & mandrake is set up as such. Any suggestions anyone??
