Anyone know how to lower AGP Latency

I used PCI Info to get some info on my PCI and AGP buses, and found that my TNT2 has an AGP Latency of 248 clocks.

Anyone know how I lower it? TweakBIOS would seem to be the utility that would do the trick, but it doesn't support my chipset (ALI). I have a GA-5AX mobo if that helps (which it should).

Assuming the software you used is correct, (I doubt it) often latency is the sole discretion of the device itself.
On some system boards, PCI/AGP bus "timers" can be adjusted.
However, the device in the slot often defines latency over-riding user values.

Well, I ran Final Reality on my old motherboard (a VIA pile of crap) with a faulty AGP slot (it wouldn't run in AGPx2).

According to all software reports I've run, the AGP slot is running at x2.

My data transfer rate has halved from 32meg down to 16 meg a second.

Sandra comes up with the same number.
Hmmm. A bit of clicking in Sandra has revealed that higher numbers are better for Latency Timer. I still need to find out where my transfer rate has gone to though.

VIA system boards have only fair memory speeds. Couple this with latency on the AGP bus. Usually, if the PCI bus speed it too high (above 33mhz) the system board adds "wait states" which are designed to give peripherals more time to complete a given task. Then, your bus rate may be too low.
PCI bus rates below 30mhz will impact upon performance.
Also, if your system memory can stand being set at CAS2 instead of CAS3, system performance will increase.
Some vid-card overclocking utilities allow vid-card memory to be optimised.
